Alaijah Bashi
Alaijah has shown an aptitude for science; getting awards in this area and participating in Science Olympiad all four years. She has been a member of the band program and even took on the challenge of being a drum major during marching season. She has been secretary of the National Honor Society, a member of Key Club all four years, and very active volunteering through her church. She has earned a 3.8 gpa and intends to study pre-medicine at either Grand Valley, Michigan State, or Alma College. After that, she will move on to get her neurology degree from the University of Michigan. Once in practice she hopes to be able to serve those who cannot afford medical treatment.
Leya Gonzalez
‘She is ambitious and motivated. As her teacher, I remain awed by the caliber of her work; she has set the bar high.” These words spoken about Leya were echoed in her other letters of recommendation. She has been involved with Key Club, National Honors Society as well as many athletic teams. She has maintained a gpa of 3.67 and held down two jobs at the same time. Her dreams and goals beyond graduation include attending Central Michigan University, majoring in a pre-dental program with a minor in business. After that she wishes to continue her study to become an orthodontist.
Hunter Tousignant
This young man has already received quite an outstanding honor this spring by being named Richmond High School’s Career and Technical Education student of the year. He is dedicated to his education and knows what it means to work hard. He has earned his 1st degree black belt in karate, teaches catechism at his church, and volunteers at Richmond’s Leisure Manor. Hunter intends to attend Macomb Community College in the fall to begin his path to becoming a teacher. His dream is to return to Richmond High School as a teacher and as he put it, “return the benefits he received back to the Community that supported me.”
Noelle Scheuer
With a 3.893 gpa she is ranked as one of the elite top 10 of the graduating class. She has been on the honor roll all four years of her career here, a part of National Honors Society and Key Club. She shines not only in the classroom but also on the softball field and on the bowling lanes. A teacher said of her “Throughout every interaction I have experienced with her, she has demonstrated excellent work ethic and noble character.” In her words she says “It is important to me that I always push myself and strive to be the best that I can be.” Noelle is headed to Adrian College to study exercise science and eventually become a pediatric physical therapist.
Anna Fraser
Anna has earned a 4.056 gpa. This outstanding accomplishment has taken place all the while participating in Key Club, SADD, Student Government, NHS, Mock Trial, We the People, Science Olympiad, numerous plays and musicals and all aspects of the vocal music program. A teacher wrote “She knows how to manage her time, and the importance of making sound decisions, and is always challenging herself. She knows that meeting these challenges takes an indelible work ethic. Anna will excel in school and in life.” She will be settling in to the University of Michigan in the fall to pursue a degree in biomolecular science with the hopes of going on to medical school to be a dermatologist.
